The Challenges

Display Lot count & other key info of car parks in Singapore. The info will come from your own internal car park systems (for those that you manage) and public government websites (e.g. LTA) for the rest.

Allow app users to renew their season parking. Season parking information should also be displayed. Integration with the standard online payment methods such as google play/third party payment processor (e.g. stripe) is required.

Complimentary ticket feature where users can scan a complimentary ticket (via qr code or other means) that will allow them to get free parking for a specific carpark.

Payment of parking fees -> App will track the time that the user has spent in the carpark and allow users to pay their parking fee via app before they exit the carpark. Note that if a user has exceeded the grace period given to exit the carpark, they will need to top up again.

Find my car -> App will track the exact location where the user parked his car, potentially via beacon technology or other means. This will allow the user to find his car again via the mobile app.Some R&D work will be required.

The Solution

Web App - Admin Panel (For operators)

The Mobile applications was made available on both android and iOS app stores for vehicle owners.. Owners can register with phone no., can add their vehicles, can book parking & pay for the parking. Include an option to extend booking time, purchase season parking and be able to get complimentary parking coupons through the mobile app.

Applying database optimization to manage the backend

The scope was huge and so was the backend management requirements. Due to this, indexing was carried out as part of an app optimization technique, and then database optimization ensured that the backend stayed sturdy.

Ability for the admin to view total number of customers registered on the app

Ability to view total number of parking locations and slots available/booked at each location

Ability to filter/Sort parking spaces available for each vehicle type

Ability to view the total number of bookings in a day, week, month, year.

Ability to view total number of transactions on the basis of the categories – parking fee, season parking fee, complimentary fee etc

User Management

○ Ability to view the list of customers registered on the app

○ Ability to view the profile of the customer (Name, Vehicle type, Plate, Email,Phone)

○ Ability to view the total number of bookings made by each customer

○ Ability to suspend/disable user profile.

○ Ability to add / update user information.

○ Ability to add any season parking pass for any plate number of the user
